Airline Norwegian Introduces Luggage Fee

Wednesday January 24, 2007
Airport SecurityEffective today, Wednesday, low fare airline Norwegian will introduce a handling fee of NOK 25,- per item on check-in luggage. The good news: the weight limit will be increased.

Passengers will now be able to check in two items weighing up to 20 kilos each, at a total cost of NOK 50. Norwegian's new regulations also mean that passengers may bring more carry-on luggage. The limit for hand luggage allowed in the cabin has been increased from 8 to 15 kilos. The airline is hoping that in this way many business travellers will be able to take all their luggage into the cabin, thus reducing check-in waiting time for travelers.
