Changing Airport Security Rules in the US

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has made some changes affecting travelers in the US.

Just like laptops previously, DVD players and gaming consoles now have to be removed from their bag and put into the x-ray machine by themselves, to ease screening and speed up clearance of your item. This does not apply to smaller electronic items, e.g. cell phones or PDAs - they can remain in their cases. The procedure went into effect on August 4, and no delays have been reported.

Another change is that you can now take a lighter again (except torch lighters which must go in the plane's belly with other luggage) and mothers are allowed to bring through more than 3 ounces of breast milk (make sure to declare this to your security officer). Also see:
