Are You Ready To See The Northern Lights?

Friday March 28, 2008
Northern Lights © J CurtisI hope so, because in April, Scandinavia travelers will have quite a few opportunities to watch the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) in action! The Geophysical Institute states that upcoming active Aurora Borealis nights will take place April 1-4, 6-16, and April 26 - May 2.

On those nights, visitors have a good chance of experiencing the Northern Lights. They offer the most memorable display among Scandinavia's three natural phenomena. During summer, the Northern Lights are often hard to see, so if you visit Scandinavia in April or May, this is your chance to see the sky light up. To bring back pictures, you'll have to learn how to photograph the Northern Lights, though, as there are a few tricks needed to get yourself some really nice shots.

And if you can't go, you can at least enjoy the Aurora Borealis Photo Gallery instead.
