Crown Princess Engaged!
Friday February 27, 2009
Love is in the air! The Swedish crown princess Victoria Bernadotte has just become engaged. She and her fiancé Daniel Westling asked the Prime Minister and his government to officially approve the engagement.
According to the Swedish constitution, the Prime Minister should be the first to receive notice about the Crown Princess’s marriage plans. The government then has to officially approve the person that the crown princess wishes to marry. If not, her right to the throne could be lost - and right now she's the one first in line to inherit the throne. The big wedding is planned for early summer of 2010.
