Health Update: First Case of Swine Flu in Sweden

Sunday May 3, 2009
It looks like the swine flu's first case has surfaced in Sweden. The County Council of Stockholm announced that a middle-aged woman most likely has signs of this particular flu virus, while they are still waiting for positive test results.

She recently visited the U.S. where she fell ill and began showing signs of the H1N1 virus, also called the swine flu or novel flu. The woman's condition is improving. To be on the safe side, the Swedish health department provided antiviral medication to her relatives as well.

As of today, 17 countries have officially reported 787 cases of H1N1 flu infection.
