Epiphany in Scandinavia is a public holiday, observed by Catholics nationally in Sweden, Finland, and Iceland on January 6. There, businesses are closed on Epiphany.
In Denmark and Norway, it is not a public holiday but numerous catholic churches offer special mass and Epiphany celebrations for locals as well as religion-oriented visitors.
Epiphany in Scandinavia is often known to locals (and many other Europeans) as the day the Three Kings (or Three Wise Men) visited the baby Jesus, after following the star that led them to Him.
Epiphany is also referred to as the Three Kings Day or the Twelfth Day of Christmas.
