MoominWorld visitors can explore the 4 floors of the Moomin house, swing in the hammocks on the pirate ship, have a scrummy lunch in Mama's kitchen, send postcards with Moomin stamps on from the MoominWorld post office, and buy all sorts of Moomin goodies and souvenirs in Sniff's shop.
There's singing with Little My, helping the Policeman catch Stinky and putting him in the Moomin jail (watch out, he tends to run off with your pushchairs, hats and bags!), or you can listen to Snufkin tell stories (in Finnish, Swedish, Russian, and if you ask nicely, sometimes in English) in his campsite in the MoominWorld woods.
Visitors can also explore the Hattifattener caves, be scared by the witch and see all the performances in the Moomin Theatre. Remember to take a swimsuit with you as you can also go swimming off the island's beach, and even have barbeques there.
MoominWorld is open in the summer months, but opens in winter for one week for a special winter wonderland, which saw the MoominWorld visitors skiing and sledding with the Moomins!
During summer, MoominWorld is open June through August from 10 - 6. A one day entrance ticket is currently 19€ (Under 3s go free). This includes all the shows at the Moomin theatre and your free Moomin newspaper. You can buy tickets on the gate, or in advance from www.lippu.fi. The busiest time at Moominworld is July.
Moominworld is located in Naantali, 16 km (10 mi) from Turku and 180 km (110 mi) from Helsinki. It is easily accessible by car, bus, train or bus. If you are driving or travelling on a coach, first head for Turku and then look for signposts to Naantali. To get from Turku to Naantali, you can also catch bus 11, 110 and 111 that depart every 15 minutes from the Marketplace in Turku. For their timetables, see www.tlo.fi
There are several good hotels in Naantali in different price ranges.
The streets in the Old Town of Naantali are very narrow, and there is limited parking. It is best to leave your car in the Moomin Car Park outside town. You can purchase your MoominWorld wristbands and catch the Moomin Bus to the Old Town. Then catch the Moomin Train, which will take the visitors right to the bridge leading to the Moominworld. The MoominWorld car park costs 5 euros, and that includes the bus and train rides.
