3. Pimsleur Scandinavian Audiobooks (Audio CD)

While Pimsleur is a little more expensive than dry vocabulary books and not a "book" per se, it provides a superb learning program of greater depth without the need for written material. It's very easy to remember language expressions and words with the Pimsleur method. The language CD sets are very useful for travel and let you learn the language on the road or on the airplane.
List price around $35.

4. Teach Yourself Danish

If you're on a budget, I won't recommend getting the Pimsleur Danish Audiobook because I feel "Teach Yourself Danish" is a better value and comes with a book and 2 CDs.

5. Teach Yourself Icelandic

Icelandic can be hard to learn, but this book with 2 audio CDs is probably the best course available and gets a rave review from me. The language book is very nice for Iceland travelers that want to learn to speak and understand the Icelandic language with little effort.
List price $29.95.

6. Beginner's Finnish

While Finnish is often not considered one of the Scandinavian languages, travelers will still get far speaking it in Scandinavia, especially in parts of Sweden. This book is a thorough course of Finnish and, if you don't memorize a lot of it, will make for a good reference book while you're traveling in Finland and Sweden.
