Guide Review - CityBike: Free Bicycles in Norway

Many travelers in these Norwegian cities love to use a bicycle for short-range and medium-range transportation. Here's another plus: It is free or very cheap, and healthy. Don't worry, it won't be too hilly.

In Norway's city of Trondheim, a subscription card is not necessary in order to use the bicycles. There, you only insert a coin and receive your deposit back when you return your bike to a CityBike station.

However, in Oslo, Drammen and Bergen you will need an electronic subscription card. Such can be purchased for a low price and is valid for one year at a time. Oslo has more than 1,200 bicycles and charges NOK 60 for the annual subscription card. In Bergen and Drammen, there are several hundred bikes available and the subscription there costs a little more, NOK 100, which is still very reasonable.

From here, you should visit the Oslo Travel Guide for more useful travel tips for this Scandinavian destination!
